Economic Justice

Advancing economic justice for women, families, and communities.

The New York Women’s Foundation invests in community-led solutions impacting the five boroughs of New York City that propel all women, girls, non-binary, and gender-expansive people towards long-term economic security and economic justice for communities.

Forging new paths to security

Forging new paths to security

Our grantee partners are creating change in their communities by organizing for wage equity, immigrant rights, safe and affordable housing, and accessible childcare, as well as through workforce development programs, advocacy for workplace safety, entrepreneurship, and micro-enterprise programs.

Tearing down systemic barriers

Tearing down systemic barriers

Our investments in economic justice are rooted in racial and gender justice, with a specific focus on tearing down systemic barriers and building systems rooted in equity and care. Our work funds local solutions that come from within communities to build long-term financial sustainability.
